the photographer

hello and welcome.

born in 197x **ahem** david has had a passion for photography for as long as he can remember. initially it was in front of the camera at an early age, modelling a vast selection of his grandmothers argyle knitwear. graduating to behind the camera in his early teens he began "bothering" friends and family and generally recording the passage of life.

fast forward 15 years, with clients on 3 continents david can now be found bothering people globally, in a professional capacity. 2008 saw david become a father for the first time which has taken his photographic interests into the field of child portraiture and it is expected that his young lads first word will be "cheese"!

highly professional, in all aspects of photography he is his own hardest critic. this fortunately is not true of his clients as a large percentage of all business is gratefully received by recommendation. we specialise in a relaxed approach to wedding & portrait photography which we feel is reflected in the images we capture.

in his own words;

"it is always an honour when someone asks you to take their or their child’s photograph and for them to entrust you with their special day and memories i think requires an enormous leap of faith. for me, this is always more special when they are asking because our work has touched someone enough for them to recommend us. i can't thank those people enough, it's incredibly humbling.

photographing people is not just about pressing a button and taking a picture. to capture a mood, a moment, a personality, there has to be a relationship between the photographer, the client and the camera. the team work really hard to get to know our customers and i hope when the prints are delivered, it's not just the result they enjoy, i hope it was the whole process."
